Pole Vaulters Lead UCF in Day One of Tiger Classic

CLEMSON, S.C. - Impressive efforts by the pole vaulters headlined the list of UCF women's track and field performances in day one of competition at the Tiger Classic hosted by Clemson on Friday.

Sophomore Michelle Teuton moved into second place in the school record books with a mark of 11-feet, 6 inches as she took third place in the pole vault. The leap was the best indoor effort ever by a Golden Knight.

Meanwhile, in the same event, junior Katie Fowke finished fifth at 11-0 and freshman Brittany McDermott tied for seventh with a personal best of 10-6.

On the track, senior Diana Chin qualified for the finals of the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.84 in the preliminary event.

UCF continues competition at the Tiger Classic on Saturday morning at 10 a.m.
