ORLANDO - The UCF men's tennis team heads to Statesboro, Ga. for a pair of matches this weekend. The Golden Knights (3-1) will face Georgia State on Saturday at 11 a.m. UCF will wrap-up the weekend on Sunday, playing host Georgia Southern at noon.
UCF has won two matches in a row and will be kicking off a four-match road swing this weekend. The squad will playing outside of Florida for the first time this season.
On Sunday, the Golden Knights eased past visiting UT-San Antonio, 5-2. UCF won five of six singles matches.
UCF and Georgia State are former Atlantic Sun rivals. The squads met last year on April 16, 2005 in semifinal play at the A-Sun Championship in DeLand, Fla. The Golden Knights posted a 4-3 win.
Both programs are in their first season in new conferences. UCF is in Conference USA and the Panthers are a member of the Colonial Athletic Association.
The all-time series against Georgia State is tied, 10-10. UCF is 2-4 versus Georgia Southern.
Georgia State and Georgia Southern will meet on Friday afternoon.
