ORLANDO, Fla. - Senior Shelby Weber picked up her second double-double in as many games with 17 points and 10 rebounds but it was not enough as Quinnipiac defeated UCF, 71-55. The Bobcats improved to 5-3 on the season, while the Golden Knights fell to 2-9.

LaShay King was also in double-digits for UCF with 11 points.

Monique Lee picked up a double-double for Quinnipiac with 23 points and 13 rebounds, while Brianna Rooney and Kathleen Neyens were also in double-digit points with 13 and 12, respectively.

Quinnipiac jumped out to a 7-0 lead a minute and a half into the game. UCF responded with a 10-0 run over the next three minutes with four different players scoring for the Golden Knights. The Bobcats then evened the score at 10 apiece.

UCF went on another run, this time scoring eight to Quinnipiac's two. Weber scored six of the eight points for the Golden Knights.

The Bobcats went up by one with less than 10 minutes to play in the first half. The two teams went back and forth with the lead over the next nine minutes before Quinnipiac took the lead for good with 1:31 to go.

The teams went into halftime with Quinnipiac up, 35-30. The Golden Knights were led by Weber who had 10 points and four rebounds, while Rooney paced the Bobcats with 10 points.

In the second half, Quinnipiac extended its lead by seven with a layup by Erin Kerner less than a minute in. The Golden Knights kept the Bobcats to within 10 points until the 14 minute mark.

Over the next 10:30 minutes, UCF outscored Quinnipiac, 12-10, with King scoring seven of the points, to bring the Golden Knights to within eight.

With just over a minute to play in the game, UCF began to foul Quinnipiac in hopes to get the ball back. After six fouls in less than 10 seconds by the Golden Knights, Kerner was sent to the foul line for the Bobcats.

At the end of game, Quinnipiac was up, 71-55. The Golden Knights shot 34.6% from the field, 27.3% from behind the three-point line and 81.3% from the free throw line, while the Bobcats were 42.6% from the field, 46.7% from three-point range and 70.6% from the charity line.

The Golden Knights return to the hardwood Saturday, Dec. 31 in their first Conference USA game against Southern Miss. Tip-off is slated for 2 p.m.
