ORLANDO, Fla. - Senior Courtney Baines and junior Roberta Pelarigo of the UCF women's soccer team were named Soccer Buzz All-Southeast Region Second Team as announced Wednesday. The honor was Baines' second and Pelarigo's first.
Baines helped to anchor a defense that allowed Conference USA opponents six goals in nine matches, while picking five assists on the season. Pelarigo paced the Golden Knights with 14 goals, 32 points and four game-winning goals.
Baines and Pelarigo were also named to the All-C-USA First Team, soccerFla.com All-Florida Team and National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Third Team All-Southeast Region, while Baines was named C-USA Defensive Player of the Year.
The Golden Knights ended the 2005 season 12-10 and 8-1 in C-USA play.
