ORLANDO - Junior guard Terra Wallace scored 16 points and went 10-for-11 from the foul line as the UT-Arlington women's basketball team defeated UCF, 65-22, in the final game of the UCF Holiday Classic on Saturday night at UCF Arena.

The Golden Knights opened strongly, taking an early 5-2 lead until the 16:11 mark when UTA began an 8-0 run. The score was deadlocked at 13-9 in favor of the Mavericks for over five minutes before junior forward Ashley Bobb (14 points) hit a jumper from just inside the arc at the 7:15 mark. Her basket sparked the visitor's offense as they went on 20-0 run. Sophomore guard Amber Long hit a foul shot in the final three seconds to end the nine minute scoring drought by the Knights, but UT-Arlington owned a 33-10 advantage at the end of the first half.

The Mavericks opened the second half with a quick six points and continued to control the game. At the 12:47 mark, the UCF defense began to shut down UTA, keeping them without a field goal for close to 12 minutes, but the Knights were unable to stage a comeback offensively.

UTA finished the game shooting 30.6% from the field and outrebounded the Golden Knights by a 52-31 margin. The Mavericks also hit 22 of 29 chances from the foul line.

In addition to Wallace and Bobb, sophomore guard Maryann Abanobi also contributed 11 points to the win. Junior guard Francine Houston led all UCF players with seven points, while senior forward Shelby Weber posted a team-high seven rebounds.

In the day's opener, senior guard Casey Manning sank 18 points as Central Michigan (7-1) downed Troy (4-3) by a score of 75-63. Senior forward Alecia Jones had a team-high 14 points for the Lady Trojans.

Wallace was joined on the all-tournament team by Bobb, Houston, Holman, Manning and CMU senior forward Chasidy Myers.
