Ticket Sales Reach 50,000 for C-USA Football Championship

Dec. 1, 2005

ORLANDO - Another big sales day Thursday pushed the total tickets sold for the Inaugural Conference USA Football Championship Game presented by Xbox 360 to 50,000. Based on advance sales, UCF is almost assured to have a record crowd on hand when the game kicks off at noon Saturday. UCF's attendance record was set in 2000 when 50,220 showed up to watch the Golden Knights play Virginia Tech.

"Our fan base gave us a great start when tickets went on sale last Tuesday and now the rest of the community is showing its support as we see the finish line draw near," said Matt DiFebo, director of customer service and sales for UCF Athletics. "There are still seats left at every price level and I encourage fans to purchase tickets in advance to assure themselves the best seats available and to avoid potentially long lines on game day."

UCF, ranked 21st in the latest CBS SportsLine poll, earned the right to host the game at the Florida Citrus Bowl by posting a 7-1 conference record en route to winning C-USA's East Division. Tulsa won the West Division with a 6-2 mark and will face UCF for the conference title.

Many fans have taken advantage of the new option from Ticketmaster to print their own tickets when they purchase them online at Ticketmaster.com. Tickets can also be purchased through Ticketmaster by phone at 407-839-3900. Tickets can be picked up in advance at the T.D. Waterhouse Box Office or the UCF Arena Box Office. Tickets can also be picked up at the will call windows at Tinker Field adjacent to the Florida Citrus Bowl on Saturday.

Ticket prices are $30 for lower level sideline seats and end zone tickets are $18. Upper level tickets are $20. Groups of 20 or more can purchase tickets in the end zone or in the upper deck at a reduced rate of $10. UCF, Valencia Community College and Seminole Community College students can purchase tickets for a reduced rate of $8.

A free shuttle is available for those who choose to park downtown. Parking in downtown lots is $5. There are a limited number of parking spaces near the stadium for $10. The only on-site pay parking available on Saturday will be south of the 408 Expressway. The lots closest to the stadium are reserved for UCF season ticket holders and require a pass for entrance.
