UCF Gets Commitments From Two Men's Golfers During Early Signing Period

ORLANDO - UCF men's golf coach Nick Clinard announced Thursday that David Palm of Jacksonville and Nuno Henriques of Bradenton have signed National Letters of Intent during the early signing period to join the Golden Knights.

"Both players will be valuable additions to the men's golf program," Clinard said. "David has a fabulous short game and good work ethic and Nuno had a tremendous upside. I expect both of them to have good college careers and help us elevate our program nationally."

Palm, is an American Junior Golf Association All-American and is ranked 24th in the class of 2006 by Golfweek magazine. He is a senior at Bartram Trail High School, where he has excelled in the class room as well as on the golf course. He recently shot a 2-under-par 70 in the high school regional tournament.

Henriques, originally from Portugal, won a Future Collegians World Tour event at World Woods in Brooksville last week with a 36-hole total of 6-under-par 138, including a 5-under-par 67 in the final round. He graduated from the Pendleton School in 2005, and is currently taking advanced placement courses at Bradenton Academy, while training at the IMG Golf Academy.

Both players will join enroll at UCF and begin competing in the fall of 2006.
