Prater Named C-USA Special Teams Player of the Week

IRVING, Texas - UCF senior place-kicker Matt Prater was named Conference USA Special Teams Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday. Prater tied a school record with four field goals in UCF's 27-21 victory over UAB Saturday at Legion Field in Birmingham.

Prater's big day started with a 47-yard field goal to end the first half, giving UCF a 10-7 lead at the break.

He booted a 36-yard field goal to cut UAB's lead to 21-13 in the third quarter. In the fourth quarter with the score tied at 21, Prater kicked a 25-yard field goal with 5:31 left to give UCF the lead for good. He added a 23-yard field goal with 50 seconds remaining in the game to lift UCF to the 27-21 win.

His four field goals tied a career-high and placed him with four other kickers for the top spot in UCF history for made field goals in a game.
