Nov. 11, 2005

ORLANDO - The UCF novice rowing squad will participate in the Florida Intercollegiate Rowing Association (FIRA) Fall Race Saturday in Fellsmere, Fla. The squad will compete against Miami, Nova Southeastern, Florida Technical, Rollins, Barry and Florida.

The Golden Knights will be represented by four boats for a total of 36 student-athletes, most of which have never rowed before this fall. Boat A will race in the Novice "A" Eight race, while the other three are entered in the Novice "B" Eight race.

The Novice "A" race will take place at 11 a.m. with the Novice "B" race at noon.

Canal 54 will serve as the course for the regatta. The canal is straight and will give the squad some experience before the spring season.
