HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Playing the last contest of a three-match Conference USA road swing, the UCF volleyball team fell 3-0 (30-18, 30-14, 30-23) to host Marshall on Sunday afternoon at the Cam Henderson Center. Junior outside hitter Maina Heming paced the Golden Knights (4-9, 2-4 C-USA) with nine kills.

Junior setter Leah Alexander recorded 22 assists in the losing effort. She has totaled at least 20 assists in eight of UCF's matches this season. Freshman middle blocker Jenny Heppert added two solo blocks and a pair of service aces for the Golden Knights, who hit just .048 for the contest.

Heming has led UCF in kills in six consecutive matches.

The Thundering Herd (13-4, 5-0) hit .333 as a team for the match. In game two, the hosts posted a .600 hitting percentage.

Stephanie Cahill totaled 17 kills for the hosts. Kelly-Anne Billngy posted 15 kills and Katie Stein registered 43 assists for the Thundering Herd.

The Golden Knights return home to host Rice for a league match on Friday. First serve at UCF Arena is set for 7 p.m. The contest against Rice is the first of three-straight at home for UCF.
