GREENVILLE, N.C. - The UCF volleyball team dropped a 3-0 (30-16, 30-23, 30-25) Conference USA match to host East Carolina on Friday evening at the Minges Coliseum. Junior Maina Heming led UCF with 10 kills.

The Golden Knights, who were playing the second contest of a three-match conference road swing, fall to 4-8 overall and 2-3 in league play, while East Carolina improves to 10-6 and 2-2.

The Pirates got off to a strong start, hitting .371 in the first game. For the match, the hosts hit .333 as a team, compared to .171 for UCF.

Sophomore Kim Clonan totaled 20 assists in the losing effort and freshman Lindsay Randazzo posted a team-high 14 digs.

East Carolina was led by Pam Ferris with 20 kills. Kelley Wernert added 12 kills for the hosts. Heidi Krug recorded a double-double with 46 assists and 13 digs.

UCF concludes the road trip on Sunday afternoon, facing Marshall for a C-USA match. First serve in Huntington, W.Va. is scheduled for 1 p.m.
