BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The UCF volleyball team swept host UAB, 3-0 (30-26, 30-26, 30-24), in Conference USA play Friday evening at Bartow Arena. Sophomore outside hitter Lorin Lukas recorded a double-double with 10 kills and 11 digs for the Golden Knights (6-13, 4-8 C-USA), who have won two straight contests.

UCF closed-out the match in style, hitting .361 as a team in game three, compared to just .068 for UAB (13-7, 4-6).

Junior setter Leah Alexander recorded 33 assists for the Golden Knights, who improved to 2-0 this season against the Blazers. Junior outside hitter Maina Heming added nine kills and six digs in the win.

The Golden Knights were playing the third contest of a four-match conference road swing.

UCF recorded nine total blocks for the match. Junior middle blocker Jana Mitchell had four blocks and also registered nine kills. Sophomore outside hitter Schanell Neiderworder totaled eight kills, eight digs and four blocks.

Lukas posted her fifth double-double of the year, all in C-USA play.

Ivana Bozic led the hosts with 15 kills and Aleksandra Vujovic finished with 13 kills. Nevena Stefanov tallied a double-double with 39 assists and 13 digs.

UCF is back on the court on Sunday, visiting Memphis. First serve is slated for 2 p.m. Eastern.
