The University of Georgia battled the winds and a field of 18 top teams to successfully defend its title Tuesday at the second annual Isleworth-UCF Collegiate Invitational. The Bulldogs shot a final round 14-over-par 302 and finished the tournament at 8-over-par, seven shots ahead of 2004 runner-up Oklahoma State.

Oklahoma State's Pablo Martin earned medalist honors by finishing the 54-hole event at 4-under-par, two shots ahead of Georgia's Chris Kirk. Martin and Kirk shared medalist honors last year. The players were neck-and-neck coming down the stretch until Martin made eagle on the 17th hole. He nearly made double-eagle on that hole as his approach from 220 yards to the long par 5 rolled up and hit the pin and stopped inches from the cup.

Georgia Tech finished third, while Arizona State tied for fourth with 36-hole leader Wake Forest. The Demon Deacons held a one-stroke lead over Georgia heading into Tuesday's final round, but dropped back after shooting a 42-over-par 330. Wake Forest's Sean Moore held a one-stroke lead after 36 holes but struggled over the final 18 holes and dropped into a tie for 26th with a 15-over-par 87.

Host UCF finished 14th at 50-over-par in a bunched up field that had teams nine through 16 separated by only eight shots. Sophomore Ben Leong was UCF's highest finisher. He shot a final-round 4-over-par 76 and tied for 26th at 9-over-par.

Strong winds kept the scoring high Tuesday with the low round of the day being an even-par 72 turned in by Georgia's Kevin Kisner, who tied for third with Georgia Tech's Kevin Larsen and Vanderbilt's Luke List for third at 2-over-par for the tournament. The field average Tuesday was 80.2, compared to 75.03 for the 36 holes Sunday.
