ORLANDO - Tulsa senior middle hitter Dana Weddle led all players with 17 kills and a .640 hitting percentage as the Golden Hurricane defeated host UCF in four games Tuesday evening in Conference USA volleyball action at the UCF Arena. Tulsa (18-3, 5-2 C-USA) won its 18th match of the season as the Golden Hurricane won by scores of 30-20, 30-26, 26-30 and 30-28 over the Golden Knights (4-12, 2-7 C-USA).

Weddle had just one error in 25 attempts to pace the Tulsa attack.

The Golden Knights could not overcome their miscues, totaling 29 attack errors and 14 service errors in the four-game loss.

Tulsa jumped out to a quick two-game lead before UCF head coach Meg Colado turned to her bench for a spark in game three. Colado used senior middle hitter Chaz Arah and junior outside hitter Vesna Ukic in the third game as UCF rallied to take the game, 30-26. Arah had four kills during the game while Ukic provided excellent ball control off the bench.

Both teams went back and forth in game four before Weddle drilled the final point of the match to seal the victory.

Kassiana Urnau totaled 15 kills and 12 digs for Tulsa while Julia Silva handed out 52 assists for the victors.

Three Golden Knights accumulated double-figure kill totals, including a team-high 14 by sophomore outside hitter Schanell Neiderworder. The Colorado native also produced 11 digs for UCF while sophomore outside hitter Lorin Lukas drilled 13 kills and 15 digs. Junior setter Leah Alexander led UCF with 48 assists.

UCF returns to action Friday, Oct. 21 at UTEP. First serve is set for 8 p.m. in El Paso, Texas.
