Women's Soccer Welcomes Miami Tuesday Night

ORLANDO-The UCF women's soccer team (7-8, 4-1 C-USA) will host Miami (7-9-1, 2-6 ACC) Tuesday, Oct. 18 at 7 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT FOR UCF
The Golden Knights defeated Marshall, 3-0, Sunday in Orlando. Kristin Bilby scored UCF's first goal of the afternoon when she sent a Roberta Pelargio pass to the top left corner of the net. In the second half, Courtney Baines sent a corner kick to the middle of the goal box for Pelarigo to head and give UCF a 2-0 lead. Shannon Wing scored the Golden Knights' third goal of the day when Michelle DeCespedes served up a free kick in front of the net. UCF was led by Pelarigo who had 10 shots on the afternoon, while Bilby and Hanna Wilde were second with five.

TEAM LEADERS FOR UCF
Roberta Pelarigo leads the team in points with 19 (8 goals, 3 assists), while Jennifer Montgomery is second with nine points (3 goals, 3 assist). Pelarigo also paces the offense with 74 shots. Beth Harless has started eight contests in goal for the Golden Knights, while Jennifer Manis has made five starts and Julie Snaman has made two. Harless has allowed seven goals with 23 saves, two shutouts and a 0.96 goals-against-average, while Manis has allowed eight goals with 10 saves and a 1.50 GAA.

UP NEXT FOR UCF
The Golden Knights travel to Memphis Friday, Oct. 21 and UAB Sunday Oct. 23. Kickoff is slated for 8 p.m. against the Tigers and 3 p.m. against the Blazers.

LAST TIME OUT FOR MIAMI
The Hurricanes lost to Florida State, 3-1, on Oct. 16 in Miami. Florida State struck first in the eighth minute of action when Holly Peltzer took a pass from Kirstern van de Ven. Three minutes later, the Seminoles took a 2-0 lead when Kelly Rowland headed a Terresa Rivera corner kick in for the score. In the second half, FSU scored their final goal of the afternoon in the 49th minute when India Trotter passed to van de Ven for the goal. Bryn Heinicke scored Miami's lone goal in the 65th minute on a pass from Lindsay Curtin. Florida State outshot Miami, 17-5, while also holding a 7-2 advantage in corner kicks.

TEAM LEADERS FOR MIAMI
Leading the way for Miami is Bryn Heinicke who has 12 points (4 goals, 4 assists). Heinicke also paces the team in shots with 38. Lauren McAdam has played in the net for 15 matches for the Hurricanes, allowing 20 goals with 79 saves and a 1.30 GAA.

SERIES NOTE
This will be the seventh meeting between UCF and Miami on the turf. The Golden Knights defeated the Hurricanes, 2-1, in 2004.

BILBY EARNS C-USA PLAYER OF THE WEEK HONORS
Kristin Bilby was named Conference USA's Offensive Player of the Week for women's soccer Oct. 17. The honor was the first for the UCF women's soccer team. During the previous week, Bilby scored both game-winning goals as UCF defeated conference foes East Carolina, 3-1, and Marshall, 3-0. Against East Carolina, Bilby headed the game-winning goal into the net during the 51st minute of play to give the Golden Knights a 2-1 lead. Against Marshall, Bilby again scored the game-winning goal, this time in the 22nd minute. She took a pass and sent it to the top left corner of the net to give UCF the 1-0 advantage.
