TULSA, Okla. - Redshirt freshman Tyrel Lacey made four saves as host Tulsa blanked UCF, 2-0, in Conference USA men's soccer action at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The Golden Hurricane improved to 4-4-6 overall and 1-2-3 in conference play, while the Golden Knights fell to 6-5-1 overall and 1-3-1 in C-USA. It also marked the third consecutive match that UCF was held scoreless.

Both teams took six shots in the first half, but only Tulsa senior Daniel Wasson found the back of the net. Senior Lawson Vaughn played a thru ball to Wasson, who scored inside the left post in the 20th minute.

The Golden Hurricane struck just under three minutes into the second half to earn a 2-0 lead. Sophomore Eric Burkholder dribbled past his defender and dropped a pass to senior Kyle Brown. Brown scored on a bullet from 10 yards.

Tulsa owned a 17-13 advantage in shots and held a 6-2 favor in corner kicks. UCF senior goalkeeper Ryan McIntosh made eight saves in the loss.

The Golden Knights will try to reverse their fortunes when they host East Carolina on Oct. 21 at the UCF Soccer Complex. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
