MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The UCF men's tennis team concluded play at the 2005 Wilson ITA Southeast Regional Championships on Saturday at the Racquet Club of Memphis. Freshmen Tarek Ben Soltane and Brock Sakey competed in doubles play on Saturday, dropping their second round match to Brandon Allan and Kai Schledom of Middle Tennessee State, 8-1.
In first round play on Friday, Ben Soltane and Sakey rolled past Tennessee's Rawl Martin and John Thornton, 8-3.
On Friday in main draw singles first round action, senior Ener Gursoy was forced to retire due to an injury against Sebastien Normand of Nicholls State. Sakey dropped a first round match in the qualifying draw. Borja Zarco of Tennessee Tech posted a 6-4, 6-2 victory over the rookie.
The event marked UCF's final tournament of the fall campaign. The Golden Knights open the 2006 spring season on Jan. 18 at Florida.
