ORLANDO, Fla. - It took overtime for the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee to defeat UCF in women's soccer action Friday night, 1-0. The Panthers improved to 2-1-2 on the season, while the Golden Knights fell to 2-4.

"Jessica Hallgren played great, I think the whole back line played great," head coach Amanda Cromwell said. "The shots that Milwaukee had I did not think were that dangerous. A lot of them went high or outside. Beth (Harless) did well tonight in the goal. I can't be upset about the goal. The girl slipped and then scored."

Sarah Teegarden scored the golden goal in the 95th minute of play when Andrea Kramer passed the ball to Teegarden in the box.

The UCF defense was solid all night long. Hallgren was in the back cleaning the ball out each and every time. Courtney Baines, Kate McCain and Kate Begley assisted Hallgren in the backfield.

Harless picked up her first start of the season in the net for the Golden Knights. She had three saves on the night, while her counterpart, Erin Kane, had seven.

Roberta Pelarigo led UCF in shots with eight, while Hallgren, Michelle DeCespedes and Jennifer Montgomery each had two.

UCF outshot Milwaukee, 15-11, while the Panthers held a 2-0 advantage in corner kicks.

UCF returns to the field Sunday, Sept. 11 when the team hosts Loyola College at 1 p.m.
