DAYTONA BEACH - Junior outside hitter Maina Heming recorded her second-consecutive double-double with 12 kills and 16 digs as the UCF volleyball team rolled past host Bethune-Cookman, 3-0 (30-21, 30-15, 30-16), on Friday afternoon at the ICI Center. The Golden Knights claim their second consecutive match and improve to 2-4 on the year while BCC drops to 0-7.
Sophomore outside hitter Lorin Lukas totaled 10 kills and sophomore setter Kim Clonan recorded a match-high 19 assists. For the match, UCF hit .318 as a team, compared to just .011 for the Wildcats.
The Golden Knights improve to 13-0 all-time against BCC. Junior setter Leah Alexander chipped in with 15 assists in the victory.
Due to construction at BCC's Moore Gymnasium, the match was played on the campus of Embry-Riddle University.
No Wildcat finished with more than four kills. Ariane Guy led the squad with 11 digs and seven assists.
The Golden Knights were playing the sixth of seven consecutive matches away from home to start the 2005 campaign. The team does not make its home debut until Sept. 20.
UCF returns to action on Sept. 16, facing cross-state rival USF in Tampa. First serve is slated for 7 p.m.
