ORLANDO, Fla. - The Ole Miss Rebels defeated the No. 27 UCF Golden Knights in women's soccer action Saturday night, 2-0. The Golden Knights fell to 1-2-0 on the season, while the Rebels improved to 3-0-0.

"We had some chances that we needed to finish," head coach Amanda Cromwell said. "Ole Miss is a good team. They scored first, had the momentum and we were unable to get it back."

Ole Miss' first goal came during the 40th minute when Jennifer Hance sent a free kick into the net past a diving Jennifer Manis.

The teams went into halftime with the Rebels up, 1-0. UCF took four shots to Ole Miss' two, while the Rebels held a slight advantage in corner kicks, 2-0.

Less than 10 minutes into the second half, Amy Gill added Ole Miss' insurance goal when she punched it over Manis' head.

Roberta Pelarigo led the Golden Knights in shots with four, while Courtney Baines and Jennifer Montgomery added a shot each.

For the Rebels, Gill had two shots, while Hance and Amy Bayles each had one.
