DALLAS, Texas - UCF senior Ryan McIntosh earned Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week honors, the league office announced on Tuesday.
The Golden Knights' starting goalkeeper, McIntosh made 10 saves over two matches to lead the team to the UCF Kickoff Classic title. He started the weekend by stopping four shots en route to a 1-0 win over Lafayette on Sept. 2. It was his 19th career shutout.
On Sept. 4, McIntosh made six saves and blocked away Preseason Third-Team All-American Alex Harrison's penalty kick as the Golden Knights defeated Central Connecticut State, 4-1.
His two-day effort landed him one save short of tying Didier Mendard (297) for second place all-time on UCF's career saves list.
Next up, McIntosh and the Golden Knights host Stetson on Sept. 13 at the UCF Soccer Complex. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
