ORLANDO - The UCF football team practiced for over two hours inside the Nicholson Fieldhouse Sunday afternoon to continue preparations for Thursday's season opener at South Carolina on ESPN. "I think basically it was a typical Sunday practice," commented UCF head coach George O'Leary. "I didn't feel real great about it. I thought we had a lot of guys going through the motions and not really on assignments."
Sunday's workout was in helmets and shoulder pads. The team worked on the punt game outside at the beginning of practice before moving indoors to the fieldhouse.
"We got some polishing to get done, especially on offense," O'Leary continued. "I thought we were very sloppy on offense."
The Golden Knights have just two practices remaining Monday and Tuesday before a walk-through on Wednesday before game day.
The team hits the field Monday from 9:30-11:30 a.m.
News and Notes: The season premiere of the "Cingular Wireless Knights Roundtable" with UCF head coach George O'Leary and the voice of the Golden Knights Marc Daniels, takes place Monday from 6-7 p.m. at the Orlando Ale House in Waterford Lakes. The one-hour show airs live on 740-AM The Team and via the Internet at ucfathletics.com.
