ORLANDO - The UCF Foundation, in conjunction with the UCF Athletics Association, Inc., announced the hiring of Todd Reeser as assistant athletics director and executive director of the Golden Knights Club on Monday. His appointment is effective immediately.
Reeser comes to UCF with nearly 20 years of experience in the fundraising arena. He spent the previous eight years as an assistant athletics director at Illinois State, where he oversaw the athletics development for the Redbirds. He led the department's participation in the university's $88 million Campaign for Illinois State, which was the first comprehensive campaign in school history. He also secured funds for the opening of a strength and conditioning center.
Prior to his stint at Illinois State, Reeser was director of athletics development at Drake for five years before becoming an assistant athletics director from 1993-97.
Reeser earned a bachelor's degree in finance from Illinois State, where he captained the Redbird baseball team. He also holds a master's degree in sports administration from St. Thomas University.
"We are excited to have a person of Todd's caliber join our staff," said Tim Leonard, assistant vice president of development and annual giving with the UCF Foundation. "His previous experience in fundraising and athletics development will a great asset to our efforts."
The Golden Knights Club is the scholarship fundraising arm for UCF Athletics. It assists UCF in improving the quality of education for the school's student-athletes. The GKC received a record $1.2 million in annual unrestricted gifts during the 2004-05 fiscal year.
