ORLANDO - The UCF football team had an eventful Saturday on the UCF campus. The team practiced for two hours in full pads before taking part in UCF Fan Photo Day activities.
An estimated crowd of 2,000 fans filled the practice fields as the UCF band joined the players and coaching staff. Fans had the opportunity to take photos of the team and get autographs of their favorite Golden Knights.
During Saturday's practice, the team continued to work on installation and also go over the team blitz period.
"We did get a lot more of the offense and defense in this preseason camp," stated UCF head coach George O'Leary. "We are way ahead in terms of installation compared to last year and now it is just matter of getting down to the two deep and see who has earned that right."
With classes beginning Monday, the coaching staff plans to have a two-deep roster in place after Tuesday's final scrimmage of the preseason. The Golden Knights shift from practicing in the afternoon during the season to morning practices, the same format the team used in the spring.
