| Victor (Orlando): With your team being ranked in the preseason top 30 and coming off your best season ever, is there any additional pressure to succeed this season? |
| | Coach Cromwell: Hello UCF Soccer Fans! Thanks for joining me for the online chat. We are excited for the season and we do expect to have a target on our backs. But, we thrive on pressure. We can't wait to compete in CUSA. |
| Jack (New York): What is the biggest challenge facing the Golden Knights in joining Conference USA? |
| | Coach Cromwell: The biggest challenge in joining CUSA is that we are unfamiliar with many of the schools. Last year we played Tulane and UAB, but we haven't seen the other schools in my 6 years at UCF. |
Randall (Orlando): Last season you lost 4 key players. Black, Blagriff, Eschleman and Fireall. Do you feel that you have brought in adequate replacements? How do you feel your reception will be in CUSA? As "State Champs" do you think that FSU and UF have a lot to prove when they come to town? |
| | Coach Cromwell: We recruited some quality players who will contribute right away. We are 2 days into preseason and the majority of the rookies are showing well. I assume UF and FSU will be looking for revenge from last year. Its nice to have both those games at home. |
| Amanda (O-Town): I was just wondering when or if someone can try out for the team?? I used to play 4 years ago in HS but it's something I still ponder playing again. |
| | Coach Cromwell: You missed walk-on tryouts for the fall. If you want to try in the Spring, come by our office in Jan. And, you better be fit!! |
| dan (atlanta): Coach I have heard some wonderful things about some of the freshman coming in this year, particularly Hanna. With having so many returning players in the middle of the field do you think she will crack the starting lineup at midfield, or maybe move somewhere else? |
| | Coach Cromwell: Hanna is a very skillful playmaker. We do have depth in the center midfield position but those players can also play other positions. Based on what I've seen in preseason so far, Hanna has a chance to crack the starting lineup as an attacking c. mid. |
| anonymous: Coach why dont you use Shannon Wing in more of an attacking role like she played in club and high school and scored so many goals there? |
| | Coach Cromwell: The best players in club and HS go to college and play other positions. Shannon has great attacking skill but she has really found her niche as a defensive center midfielder. |
| larry (duluth): If all the girls on the team got into a big fight who do you think would come out the winner? |
| | Coach Cromwell: Funny question. We asked the players last year which teammate they would take to war. Its hard to just pick one player because its just not a matter of strength. But, based on pure strength, Jessica Hallgren would be a frontrunner to win. |
| Michael Mekker: Coach, has our move to Conference USA helped with any particular areas of recruiting? Keep up the great work! |
| | Coach Cromwell: Moving to CUSA has definitely helped with recruiting, regionally and nationwide. We also want to focus on Texas so it helps to play 4 schools from that state. Thanks for all the questions. Look forward to seeing you at our games! GO UCF!! |
