ORLANDO, Fla. - UCF head women's rowing coach Leeanne Crain announced the hiring of Corrie McGrath as an assistant coach on Thursday. McGrath's appointment will begin August 22.
"I am excited to have Corrie join us," said Crain. "From her experience at Washington State, she knows what it takes to be competitive at the national level. She will be a great asset to our program."
McGrath comes to Orlando with two years of coaching experience at Everett Rowing Association (ERA) in Marysville, Wash. At ERA, she served as the lightweight varsity coach for one season, assistant varsity coach for one season and novice coach for two seasons.
McGrath also worked for the George Pocock Rowing Foundation where she served as a coach for L.E.E.P, the Orion House and the Special Olympics during the summers of 2003 and 2004.
In May 2003, McGrath graduated from Washington State where she was a four-year letterwinner on the rowing team. While attending college, McGrath also rowed at the U.S. National Team Pre-Elite Camp.
In 2004, she was a member of the Lake Washington Rowing Club that won the Head of the Charles championship.
McGrath received a USRowing Level II Certification in 2003 and completed the NFHS Coaches Education Program in 2002. She also holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from Washington State.
