July 22, 2005

SKILLMAN, N.J. - UCF senior Simon Jaeger was recognized for his work in the classroom as he earned Intercollegiate Tennis Association Scholar-Athlete honors this week. Jaeger recently completed his collegiate career.

He earns the award for the third consecutive year. In order to receive scholar-athlete status, a student-athlete must have a 3.50 or higher grade point average.

Jaeger's honor marks the 13th time that a Golden Knight has garnered the award from the ITA. Dating back to 2001, head coach Bobby Cashman has had nine ITA Scholar-Athletes.

In 2004, UCF won its third straight Atlantic Sun title and advanced to the NCAA Championships. Next season, the Golden Knights move to Conference USA.
