MACON, Ga. - During the 2004-05 season, 154 UCF student-athletes garnered Atlantic Sun Conference All-Academic honors, the most of any league school, the conference announced on Tuesday. The Golden Knights finished in second place in the A-Sun All-Academic Trophy race.

"Here at UCF we are proud that our student-athletes are excelling in the classroom," said UCF Director of Athletics Steve Orsini. "Our coaches and staff stress high academic standards and our student-athletes continue to surpass those expectations. It is our goal that each and every student-athlete at UCF not only enjoys success in athletic competition, but also makes a commitment to their academics."

Over 57 percent of UCF student-athletes that competed in A-Sun sponsored sports earned at least a 3.0 grade point average.

Belmont claimed the league's all-academic trophy for the fourth consecutive year.

The Golden Knights were competing in the A-Sun for the final time. UCF moves to Conference USA in July.

To earn A-Sun All-Academic honors, a student-athlete must achieve a 3.0 or higher in the classroom during their semester of competition.
