ORLANDO - UCF men's tennis head coach Bobby Cashman announced on Monday that his program has received National Letters of Intent (NLI) from two prospective student-athletes from the Sunshine State. Jimmy Roesch from Melbourne and Brock Sakey from Gulf Breeze have both signed NLIs to attend UCF and join the tennis program in the fall of 2005.

Roesch, who prepped at Eau Gallie High School, claimed the Florida Class 3A State singles title in April. As a senior, he posted a 14-1 record. Following his junior campaign, Roesch was named the Florida Today All-Space Coast Player of the Year.

"We are very excited that Jimmy will be joining our program. He has excelled on the prep level and was also ranked in the top-10 in Florida in his age group last year," said Cashman. "He is strong in academics as well and will be a key addition to our team."

Sakey starred at Gulf Breeze High School. This past season, he advanced to the Florida Class 2A State title match. He won three matches at the state championship.

"Brock is the complete student-athlete," said Cashman. "He excels in the classroom and is also strong on the courts. Both Brock and Jimmy will be key components in helping us make the move into Conference USA. They will both help elevate the program."

UCF won its third consecutive Atlantic Sun Conference Championship in April. The Golden Knights will be competing in their third straight NCAA Championship next weekend. Next season, UCF moves to Conference USA.
