DeLAND - Sophomore infielder Matt Ray and junior catcher Drew Butera were named to the Atlantic Sun Baseball all-tournament team, announced Saturday following the A-Sun Championship game. Sophomore pitcher Tim Bascom was left off the team, despite throwing one of two complete-game shutouts of the tournament.
Ray led UCF with a .308 batting average in four games. He ranked first on the team with four runs scored and did not commit an error in 14 attempts at second base.
Butera was named to the all-tournament team for his efforts behind the dish. The Johnny Bench Award semifinalist threw out five of six runners attempting to steal in the tournament. Among the five included NCAA steals leader Adam Godwin. Godwin, who has 84 stolen bases in 92 attempts in 2005, is 0-for-3 vs. Butera in four games this season in stolen base attempts.
