ORLANDO - The UCF women's cross country squad was named a 2004 Women's Intercollegiate Cross Country Coaches Association (WICCCA) Academic All-America Team.
It was the sixth time that the Golden Knights have earned the honor, which is given to squads with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better. UCF owned a 3.280 GPA.
This year 103 teams were listed with the credentials.
"I am proud of the hard work that the women have done to earn all-academic team honors for the sixth year," said head coach Marcia Mansur-Wentworth, who is in her 10th year at the Knights' helm. "To compete in a year round sport and maintain such high academic success is a testament to the caliber of student-athletes we have on this team."
