ORLANDO, Fla. - The UCF softball team travels to North Carolina where the squad will take on Campbell Friday night and Gardner-Webb Saturday afternoon. The Golden Knights enter the weekend with a 31-19-1 record on the season and 4-2 mark in the Atlantic Sun, while the Campbell Camels come in with a 22-18 season mark and 3-7 record in the A-Sun. The Lady Bulldogs of Gardner-Webb are 15-24 for the season and 1-8 in the conference.

Stephanie Best paces the offense with a .343 batting average and leads the Golden Knights with 18 home runs, 40 RBI and 105 total bases. She has a team-high slugging percentage of .784. Jania Shinhoster leads the team in hits with 47 and is second in batting average at .324 with eight doubles, three triples and two home runs.

Lindsay Enders and Kelly McIntyre anchor the pitching staff with a combined record of 25-14. Enders is 14-10 with a 1.75 ERA, while McIntyre is 11-4 with a 2.44 ERA. Enders leads the pitching staff in strikeouts with 125 as opponents are only hitting .193 against her.

In the Atlantic Sun statistics, UCF is third in team fielding (.956), fourth in team batting (.270) and fifth in team pitching (2.25 ERA). Shinhoster and Best are among the top 10 in the conference for hits, while Best tops the league in home runs, walks (36), runs scored (36) and slugging percentage. Best is also second in the A-Sun in RBI and total bases (105) and third in on-base percentage (.483).

Cici Alvarez has a conference-high 19 stolen bases, while Shinhoster is fifth with 13. Crystle Krafft ranks among the top 10 in home runs (7), triples (3), doubles (10), runs scored (25), RBI (30) and total bases (77). Enders leads in five of the pitching categories in the league including saves (2), shutouts (6), innings pitched (175.2), games started (24) and complete games (21).

Last time out, UCF took two from Belmont on Saturday in Orlando. The Golden Knights defeated the Bruins 2-0 in the first game, followed by a 12-3 win in game two. Shinhoster led the Black and Gold at the plate, going 5-for-6 on the afternoon with one double, one run, two RBI and two walks. Enders earned the win in game one, giving up one hit in seven innings, while striking out four and walking two. Ashley Baker picked up the win in game two, giving up three runs on six hits and three strikeouts.

Campbell is led offensively by Holly Harris. The Ontario native is batting .336 with six home runs and 12 doubles. Harris' .336 average is 61 points higher than her career average of .275. She also leads the Lady Camels in hits (40), RBI (29), total bases (70) and slugging percentage (.588).

As a team, Campbell is hitting .241 with 14 home runs.

Lexi Myers leads the pitching staff with a 9-7 record and a 1.57 ERA. Myers has given up 34 runs on 65 hits, 42 walks and 95 strikeouts. Opponents are batting .191 against her.

The Lady Camels have a team ERA of 1.86 in 271.1 innings. Campbell has given up 233 hits, while striking out 224.

On Wednesday evening, Campbell defeated visiting North Carolina, 2-1.

Amy Anderson and Ashley Marley led the Lady Camels at the plate, with both going 2-for-3. Kelly Weaver picked up the win for Campbell after facing just three batters.

This will be the eighth time that UCF and Campbell have met on the softball diamond with the Golden Knights leading the series, 6-1. The last time that these two teams met was on April 8, 2004 in Orlando with the Golden Knights defeating the Lady Camels, 7-0 and 8-3. Amber Lamb led the Black and Gold at the plate after going 5-for-7 with two doubles, four runs and one RBI. Enders and Taylor Sawyer picked up the wins for UCF.

Gardner-Webb is led offensively by Rachel Riopel. The Rhinelander, Wis. native is batting .333 with five home runs, three triples and 11 doubles. Riopel also leads the Lady Bulldogs in hits (41), runs scored (22), RBI (32), total bases (71) and slugging percentage (.577).

As a team, Gardner-Webb is hitting .229 with 13 home runs.

Stacie Reichert leads the pitching staff with a 9-13 record and a 1.98 ERA. Reichert has given up 66 runs on 130 hits, 43 walks and 134 strikeouts in 145 innings pitched. Opponents are batting .232 against her.

The Lady Bulldogs have a team ERA of 3.18 in 253 innings. Gardner-Webb has given up 262 hits, while striking out 230.

Last time out, Gardner-Webb was defeated by Florida Atlantic on Tuesday at home. The Owls took game one, 2-1, and followed that up with a 5-3 win in game two.

Lindsay Cox led the Lady Bulldogs at the plate after going 3-for-6 with one run scored. Reichert and Andrea Lewis picked the losses for Gardner-Webb.

This will be the seventh time that UCF and Gardner-Webb have met with the Black and Gold leading the series, 5-1. The last time that these two teams met was on Feb. 5, 2005 at the Clearwater Invitational with the Golden Knights defeating the Lady Bulldogs, 10-1, in five innings. Krafft led the Knights, going 2-for-3 with one home run, one double, two run and two RBI. McIntyre earned the win in the circle for UCF.

The Golden Knights do not return home until they host Jacksonville on Saturday, April 23 for Senior Day.
