DeLAND - The UCF men's tennis team rolled past Stetson on Wednesday, topping the Hatters, 6-1, in an Atlantic Sun match at the Mandy Stoll Tennis Center. The Golden Knights have won three contests in a row and improve to 11-8 overall and 3-0 in league play. Stetson falls to 16-6 and 1-3.
In singles action, UCF claimed five of six tilts. At No. 5, sophomore Sebastian Delgado had little trouble with Christian Moe, posting a 6-1, 6-0 win. Senior Antonio Sierra won his 11th consecutive singles match, defeating Thomas Bross (6-3, 6-0) at No. 4.
Against Trevor Bach at No. 6, senior Simon Jaeger took a 6-2, 6-4 victory. At the top spot, senior Joel Allen topped Marcus Echtler, 6-4, 6-4. Junior Ener Gursoy got past Joey Jones, 7-5, 6-3, at No. 2.
The visitors opened the match by winning the doubles point. Allen and Sierra blanked Bach and Echtler for an 8-0 victory at the top spot. At No. 3, Delgado and Gursoy teamed to beat Mario Cayo and Moe, 8-4.
UCF improves to 20-4 all-time against the Hatters.
The Golden Knights conclude their regular season on Thursday, playing at Jacksonville at 1 p.m.
