Haynes Signs Free Agent Contract with Baltimore

April 25, 2005

ORLANDO - UCF's all-time leading rusher Alex Haynes has signed a free agent contract with the Baltimore Ravens. For the first time since 2002, the Golden Knights did not have a player selected in the NFL draft over the weekend.

Haynes rushed for 3,356 yards and 27 touchdowns over his standout, four-year career with the Golden Knights. Haynes broke UCF's all-time rushing record in 2004, surpassing Willie English (3,131 yards) in the record books.

In addition to the yards record, Haynes also leaves UCF first in the career annals in attempts (742) and 100-yard games (16). He is also among the school's all-time leaders in rushing touchdowns (27, second).

Haynes led UCF with 854 yards on 215 carries in nine games in 2004. He missed two games due to a shoulder injury.
