ORLANDO - Senior and UCF Track and Field captain Ann-Louise Larsen is currently ranked among the nation's top ten performers in the high jump according to the latest NCAA Division I descending order list.
A three-time NCAA Regional qualifier, Larsen moved into eighth after posting a winning leap of 1.81m (5 feet, 11.25 inches) at the Atlantic Sun Championships on April 16. The mark was a conference championship and Vanderbilt Track record, while it also tied the UCF record set by sophomore LesSundra Ford in 2004.
In order to qualify for the NCAA National Championship, competitors must finish in the top five at the regional meet or be chosen as one of the at-large bids. Among East Regional competitors, Larsen is currently fifth.
In 2004, Ford was an at-large selection and went on to finish in a tie for 20th.
The Golden Knights continue their 2005 campaign with the Golden Knight Twilight on April 30. The event begins at 3 p.m. at the UCF Track and Field Complex.
