Enders Named Pitcher of the Week for the Second Straight Week

MACON, Ga. - Senior Lindsay Enders earned Atlantic Sun Softball Pitcher of the Week honors for the second consecutive week, third time this season, after going 3-0 against in-state rival Florida State and A-Sun rivals Georgia State and Mercer. Enders' 2-1 win over Florida State was the first in UCF history.

For the week, Enders had an ERA of 0.30, while pitching 23 innings and giving up one unearned run on 13 hits, 12 walks and 17 strikeouts. She held Florida State, Georgia State and Mercer batters to a .160 average.

Enders started the first game against FSU picking up the 2-1 win after going seven innings giving up one run on five hits, six strikeouts and five walks. Against Georgia State, Enders pitched seven innings in the first game giving up no runs on four hits with two strikeouts and one walk. She later came in a pitched two innings in the second game against the Lady Panthers where she gave up no runs and no hits, while striking out two and walking one. At Mercer, Enders was the pitcher of record in game one, giving up one run on four hits, seven strikeouts and five walks.

On the season, Enders is 19-10 and has an ERA of 1.51 in 213.2 innings pitched, while holding opposing teams to a .189 batting average. She has given up 68 runs on 146 hits, 70 walks and 159 strikeouts.

UCF has had three A-Sun Player of the Week winners plus Enders' three Pitcher of the Week honors thus far into the 2005 season. Enders first won the honor on Feb. 7, while Crystle Krafft won Player of the Week on Feb. 21 and March 21 with Stephanie Best picking up the honor on Feb. 28.

The Golden Knights (38-22-1, 10-4 A-Sun) take to the diamond on Wednesday, April 20 when they travel to Tampa, Fla. to take on in-state rival USF in a midweek series starting at 5 p.m.
