MACON, Ga. - Lindsay Enders earned Atlantic Sun Softball Pitcher of the Week honors for the second time this season after going 2-0 against A-Sun rivals Campbell and Gardner-Webb. Enders first earned the honor back on Feb. 7.
On the week, Enders had an ERA of .047, while pitching 15 innings, giving up two runs on 10 hits, 17 strikeouts and seven walks. She held Campbell and Gardner-Webb batters to a .182 batting average.
Enders started game one against Campbell, where she went seven innings and gave up two runs on five hits with three strikeouts and four walks to earn the win. At Gardner-Webb, she went the full distance again giving up no runs on five hits, striking out a career-high 14 batters while walking two. Enders had a no-hitter going into the fourth before a Bulldog reached base safely.
At the plate, Enders was 6-for-13 with one home run, two doubles, three singles, one walk, five RBI and two runs for a .462 batting average and an .846 slugging percentage in the four games.
On the season, Enders is 16-10 and has an ERA of 1.65 in 190.2 innings pitched, while holding opposing teams to a .192 batting average. She has given up 66 runs on 133 hits, 58 walks and 142 strikeouts.
UCF has had three A-Sun Player of the Week winners plus Ender's two Pitcher of the Week honors thus far into the 2005 season. Crystle Krafft won Player of the Week on Feb. 21 and March 21, while Stephanie Best picked up the award on Feb. 28.
The Golden Knights (34-20-1, 7-3 A-Sun) take to the diamond on Wednesday, April 13 when they travel to Tallahassee, Fla. to take on in-state rival Florida State in a midweek doubleheader starting at 6 p.m.
