UCF Too Much for FAMU

ORLANDO - The UCF men's tennis team had little trouble with visiting Florida A&M on Saturday, defeating the Rattlers, 6-1, at the UCF Tennis Complex. The Golden Knights improve to 4-6 on the season.

UCF opened the match by sweeping the three doubles matches. At No. 1, seniors Joel Allen and Antonio Sierra posted an 8-2 victory over Frank Green and Clifford Malivert.

Also claiming an 8-2 win was seniors Simon Jaeger and Rhett Rosen at No. 2. The pair topped Zurab Zhuania and Jarrel Williams. At No. 3, junior Ener Gursoy and sophomore Sebastian Delgado earned an 8-5 win over Courtney Burns and Vassill Zaharieu.

In singles play, the Golden Knights won five of six tilts. Gursoy breezed past Zhuania, 6-0, 6-0, at the top spot. Jaeger was too much for Williams at No. 3, taking a 6-2, 6-2 victory.

Freshman Sinan Sudas topped Burns at No. 6 (6-0, 6-3). Sierra defeated Malivert, 6-4, 6-0 at No. 4 and senior Paul Ramy was a 6-3, 6-4 winner at No. 5 against Zaharieu.

The Golden Knights return to action on Tuesday, hosting Boston College at 2 p.m.
