ORLANDO - Youngsters looking to learn from the Golden Knights are invited to participate in the UCF Youth Sports Festival on Saturday, April 2 on the UCF campus. Hundreds of kindergarten through fifth grade students will participate in sports clinics taught by UCF athletes and coaches.
On-site registration will take place at the UCF Soccer Field, located behind the arena in the UCF Athletics Complex, starting at 9 a.m. Each participant will select one of the following clinics in which to participate: baseball, basketball, football, soccer or cheerleading.
"This is a great event for young people to interact and learn skills from UCF student-athletes and coaches," said UCF men's basketball head coach Kirk Speraw, whose players will instruct at the clinics. "I know that our student-athletes always enjoy helping the kids. It is truly a community event that connects UCF with children around the area."
The clinics will be held from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m., followed by lunch. Over 600 children have already registered for the festival, which in its 11th year.
The event costs $2 per child, which includes one clinic, lunch and a goody bag. Please call (407) UCF-ALUM to pre-register for the clinics or for more information.
The UCF Youth Sports Festival is hosted by the UCF Alumni Association and the UCF Athletic Association. The event is sponsored by Dairy Farmers, Inc. Chrysler-Jeep and the Orlando Sentinel.
