ORLANDO - The UCF men's tennis team concludes its 2005 home campaign on Wednesday afternoon, hosting Arkansas-Little Rock at 1 p.m. Admission to the match at the UCF Tennis Complex is free.
The five seniors on the Golden Knights (9-8) roster will be playing in their final home contest. Joel Allen, Simon Jaeger, Paul Ramy, Rhett Rosen and Antonio Sierra will compete on their home court for the last time.
UCF is playing the last tilt of a four-match homestand. The squad topped Pacific, 4-3, on Saturday. Sierra, Jaeger and sophomore Sebastian Delgado all claimed singles matches against the Tigers.
Because rain was forecast for the afternoon, the teams played singles matches first. The contest was decided at No. 1 singles, where Allen and Sierra held on for an 8-6 victory over Arnar Sigurdsson and Vladimor Zdravkovic.
Sierra has won nine consecutive solo tilts. For his career, he has 73 victories - a school record.
The Trojans enter the match at 10-7. UALR played at Florida Atlantic on Saturday, falling 4-3 to the Owls. On Sunday, the squad was scheduled to play at Lynn, but the contest was cancelled due to inclement weather.
