Roebuck Named A-Sun Performer of the Week

March 22, 2005

MACON, Ga. - UCF standout Tiffany Roebuck was tapped as the Atlantic Sun Women's Track and Field Performer of the Week by the league office on Tuesday.

Last weekend, the junior thrower won the gold section hammer throw at the FSU Relays for the second consecutive year. Roebuck had a mark of 170 feet, four inches - short of her NCAA Regional qualifying mark and school record of 185-10 from earlier this season.

In addition to her effort in the hammer, Roebuck was also impressive in the shot put with a throw of 47-2.5. The performance, which surpassed the NCAA Regional qualifying standard, gave her top honors in the garnet section of the event and also broke the school record she shared with former two-time Atlantic Sun Performer of the Year Katara Beard.

It was the first weekly honor for the five-time all-conference honoree Roebuck.

The UCF track and field team returns to action at the Florida Relays from March 24-26.
