ORLANDO - After claiming a pair of matches in California last week, the UCF men's tennis team returns home to play two mid-week contests against formidable opponents. The Golden Knights (8-6) face 15th-ranked Tennessee on Tuesday at 1 p.m. The team also hosts Air Force at 2 p.m. on Thursday.
Admission to both matches at the UCF Tennis Complex is free.
Head coach Bobby Cashman's Golden Knights have won six consecutive matches and have not lost since Feb. 25. UCF topped Denver (7-0) and Iowa (5-1) last week in La Jolla, Calif.
Junior Ener Gursoy was solid out west, earning two victories at No. 1 singles. He has taken five of his last six matches.
On the doubles side, seniors Rhett Rosen and Simon Jaeger were victorious in both of their No. 2 matches. The pair fought for a 9-8 (4) victory over Iowa's Chaitu Malempati and Bart van Monjsu.
Tennessee enters the match 8-2 overall and a perfect 4-0 in Southeastern Conference play. The Vols last played on March 13, defeating visiting Louisiana State, 4-3.
UCF holds a 4-2 series edge against Air Force. The Falcons (13-3) face host Stetson on Monday afternoon.
The squad has won five straight, including two matches at home on March 19. Air Force topped Oral Roberts and Colorado School of Mines, both by a 6-1 score.
