Krafft Earns Atlantic Sun Player of the Week Honors

MACON, Ga. - Crystle Krafft earned Atlantic Sun Softball Player of the Week honors for the second time this season after going 8-for-20 (.400) at the plate with two home runs, four runs scored, five RBI and 14 total bases in seven games played. Krafft first earned the honor back on Feb. 21.

Krafft started the week off by going 4-for-6 in a doubleheader against Bradley, where she drove in a run and stole a base. In the first game of the UCF Invitational, Krafft went 2-for-4 with two home runs, three RBI and two runs scored as UCF defeated Charleston Southern, 9-0. On Saturday, she went 1-for-2 against Kent State and followed that up with a 1-for-2 effort in UCF's upset win over No. 20 Georgia Tech.

On the season, Krafft is hitting .281 with 38 hits, 10 doubles, three triples, six home runs, 24 runs scored, 26 RBI and 72 total bases. She also has a .533 slugging percentage and a .333 on base percentage.

UCF has had three player of the week winners plus one pitcher of the week winner thus far into the 2005 season. Lindsay Enders won Pitcher of the Week on Feb. 7, while Krafft won Player of the Week on Feb. 21 and Stephanie Best won the following week, Feb. 28.

The Knights take to the diamond on Tuesday, March 22 when they host Atlantic Sun rival Lipscomb in a mid-week doubleheader starting at 1 p.m. Admission to all UCF softball games is free.
