LA JOLLA BEACH, Calif. - With a 5-1 victory over Iowa on Friday afternoon, the UCF men's tennis team posted its sixth consecutive win. The Golden Knights improve to 8-6 on the season and Iowa drops to 9-3.

UCF's last defeat came on Feb. 25.

In singles play, the Golden Knights were victorious at the top two spots. Junior Ener Gursoy took a 6-1, 7-6 match over Chaitu Malempati at No. 1. At No. 2, senior Joel Allen breezed by Kyle Markham (6-0, 6-2).

Sophomore Sebastian Delgado, a transfer from Iowa, topped Jonny Hoak, 6-3, 6-1 at No. 5. Against Bart van Monsjou at No. 4, senior Antonio Sierra claimed a 6-3, 6-2 victory.

Senior Paul Ramy's No. 6 match against Brett Taylor was not finished due to rain.
