ORLANDO - The UCF women's rowing team continues its spring campaign when it faces Columbia and Florida Tech at the FIT Invitational on Canal 54 in Fellsmere on Saturday.
The Varsity Eight is looking to beat Columbia after a disappointing loss to the Lions at the same venue in the Spring 2004. Benefiting from the experience of both the veterans and the rookies, this year's UCF boat has improved speed and also has momentum and confidence gained from the win over Miami a week ago.
In the day's other races, the Junior Varsity Eight and Novice Eight compete against Columbia's Novice Eight, while the Second Novice Eight goes head-to-head with FIT's top Novice Eight boat and Columbia's Second Novice Eight.
The Varsity Four takes on both Columbia and FIT in the final race of the day.
