TALLAHASSEE - Junior Tiffany Roebuck earned an NCAA Regional mark for the second time this season as the UCF women's track and field team opened competition at the FSU Relays at Mike Long Track on Thursday afternoon.
Roebuck, who qualified for the NCAA Regional in the hammer throw during her outdoor debut in February, broke the school record in the shot put with a mark of 14.39 meters (47 feet, 2.5 inches). The effort not only gave her first place in the garnet section of the event but also qualified her for the NCAA Regional in the event.
With her throw of 14.27m (46-10) last weekend at the Disney Relays, Roebuck tied the previous school record set by two-time Atlantic Sun Performer of the Year Katara Beard in 2001. In February, she broke her own UCF record in the hammer throw at 56.64m (185-10).
Meanwhile, freshman Virginia Traynor had a mark of 12.81m (42-0.25).
The Golden Knights continue to compete at the FSU Relays on both Friday and Saturday.
