March 12, 2005

LAKE BUENA VISTA - Led by a first place showing in the shot put and a sweep in the discus, the UCF women's track team concluded the second day of competition in the Disney Relays at the Disney Wide World of Sports Complex on Saturday.

Junior Tiffany Roebuck took top honors in the shot put with a personal best of 14.27m (46-feet, 10 inches). Roebuck qualified for the NCAA Regional in the hammer throw earlier this season.

Meanwhile, freshman Sade Kusimo led a UCF sweep of the top four places in the discus with a throw of 39.81m (130-7). Rookie Virginia Traynor was second followed by Roebuck in third and sophomore Anna Baker in fourth.

In other field events, junior Diana Chin grabbed the long jump title with a mark of 5.27m (19-0) and finished second in the triple jump at 10.73m (35-2.50).

On the track, the relay team of sophomore Christina Jones, redshirt freshman Kristin Zieminski, freshman Elizabeth Miller and Andrea Morrow was first in the 4x800m with a time of 9:32.81.

The team of freshman Vicky Chin, juniors Tavia Record and Kylene Colasanti and sophomore Karen Kozub placed second in the 4x400m relay with a season best time of 3:53.70.

The Golden Knights return to action on March 17 for the two-day FSU Relay competition.
