Cromwell Named Coach of the Year by NISOA

ORLANDO, Fla. - UCF women's soccer head coach Amanda Cromwell was named Coach of the Year by the Central Florida Chapter of National Intercollegiate Soccer Officials Association (NISOA) for the 2004 season. Cromwell led the Golden Knights to a 17-4-2 overall mark and an 8-2-0 record in the Atlantic Sun, while earning an at-large bid into the NCAA Tournament.

Following the season, Cromwell was also named Coach of the Year by soccerbuzz.com for the Southeast Region.

Cromwell has had numerous student-athletes receive awards during the off-season. Courtney Baines was named by soccerbuzz.com to the Southeast Region second team, National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/adidas South Region Scholar Athlete All-America first team, A-Sun all-conference first team, A-Sun Defensive Player of the Year, soccerFla.com All-Florida Team and CoSIDA Academic All-America second team.

Allison Blagriff was also named by soccerbuzz.com to the Southeast Region third team, NSCAA/adidas South Region Scholar Athlete All-America first team, A-Sun all-conference first team, NSCAA Southeast Region third team, All-American adidas academic team and soccerFla.com all-Florida team.

Kendra Flock was named to the A-Sun all-conference first team, A-Sun all-freshman team, NSCAA Southeast Region second team, soccerbuzz.com Southeast Region second team and all-freshman team, soccerbuzz.com freshman All-America third team and soccerFla.com all-Florida team as well as freshman of the year.

Jessica Hallgren was named to the soccerbuzz.com Southeast Region all-freshman team, A-Sun all-freshman team and soccerbuzz.com freshman All-America third team.

Cromwell will enter her seventh season as head coach at UCF in the fall of 2005 with a school record of 89-37-5. The Golden Knights will participate as a member of Conference USA in the fall. UCF will face fellow NCAA Tournament participants Rice, SMU and UAB in the upcoming season.
