GAINESVILLE - Senior co-captain Ann-Louise Larsen placed second in the high jump to lead the UCF women's track team at the Gator Invitational on Sunday.
Larsen posted an indoor school record of 5-8.75, just short of NCAA provisional qualification, to finish as the runner-up in the high jump, an event in which she has twice earned all-conference honors. Elsewhere, junior Lynssey Hicks bettered her long jump mark from Saturday's Carolina Classic by leaping 17-9.5 and placed 12th.
On the track, the Golden Knights were led by the efforts of juniors Andrea Morrow and Marivi Mercado in the 3,000m. Morrow finished sixth at 10:43.70 with Mercado following in seventh place at 11:12.85.
Freshman Vicky Chin took ninth in the 55m hurdles at 8.42 seconds, while sophomore Karen Kozub was 12th in the mile at 5:19.
UCF continues its indoor track schedule when the Knights travel to Clemson on Feb. 26 for the Clemson Invitational.
