MACON, GA - After having a career weekend, UCF senior second baseman Crystle Krafft was named Atlantic Sun Player of the Week as announced by the league office earlier this afternoon.
Krafft hit a scorching .471, and scored four times over the weekend at the UCF Fastpitch Classic. Six of her eight hits were for extra bases, and produced 9 RBI's for the Golden Knights. The Jacksonville native ripped five doubles and a triple. She drove in the game winning RBI in two of the four UCF victories.
Krafft started the weekend with a 1-for-2 effort against Longwood, scoring twice and driving in two runs. Later in the day, the senior went 3-for-4 with a double and a triple along with four RBI's against North Dakota State. On Saturday, Krafft went 1-for-4 against Boston, with another RBI double. Krafft finished the weekend with a 1-for-3 effort against Longwood, driving in two Golden Knight base runners.
The league honor is the first of Krafft's career. She is the second Golden Knight to receive an A-Sun award this season, joining Lindsay Enders who won A-Sun Pitcher of the Week (Feb. 5).
UCF returns to the diamond for a doubleheader on Tuesday afternoon against Florida A&M. First pitch is slated for 4:00 p.m.
